Certain customs in China can make you feel like you’re in a parallel universe, where everything you know is being questioned. You may also need a manual to adjust your behavior in public places, or you may find yourself in a rather uncomfortable situation.
I bet you can’t name a waiter or a taxi driver who would reject a tip. As a matter of fact, tips are considered a must in many places (if you want to avoid that haunting judgemental look). Well, in China, the land of contrast, you will be going back and forth with the person providing the service since they will NOT accept your tips! And if you’re not particularly generous when it comes to tipping, I guess China has just moved to the top of your list of dream destinations.
